Clifford Today ~ We're Working Together Towards Improvement

Clifford Township, the fastest growing area of Susquehanna County in North East Pennsylvania, has a current population of roughly 2400. The need to offer a place of wholesome activity in the community was answered when the Clifford Township Community Alliance (CTCA) was formed with a mission to improve the quality of life, the environment and the economic health of the community.

The CTCA, the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company and Ladies Auxiliary, the Clifford Township Historical Society, the Mountain View Garden Club, and numerous volunteers from local businesses and churches collaborated on the 1806 ~ 2006 Bicentennial Celebration. Today the long tradition of people working together on projects and activities to make the community better for all continues.

The Clifford Township Bicentennial Logo 2006

The design of the Clifford Township Bicentennial logo was created by Helmut and Barbara Kunst. Each quadrant of the logo highlights a significant part of the township's history. Going clockwise, the first quadrant highlights the dominance of farming from the earliest days until recently; the second refers to the natural beauty of the wooded mountains, the wildlife and stone walls; the third speaks of volunteerism exemplified by the Clifford Township Volunteer Fire Company; the last quadrant represents the importance of the community, its churches, the one-room school houses and homes.

The true meaning of our logo is, "Welcome to our wonderful life."
